About PAMHCA
PAMHCA History - 2009
2009 was a productive year for PAMHCA:
We expanded our series of Breakfast Networking Gatherings in the Philadelphia and Carlisle areas to meet other counselors, share our work experiences and discuss professional opportunities.
We continued efforts to collaborate with PCA to develop seminars for graduate students and practitioners and also explored options for offering PAMHCA seminars on the web (webinars) to benefit members.
The Board produced a quarterly on-line newsletter and completed PAMHCA new website (www.pamhca.org) which has received accolades from AMHCA.
PAMHCA also developed guidelines governing advertising in the newsletter and on the website and can now accept ads.
We directed outreach efforts to AMHCA members in PA and to Graduate Programs across the state.
Board members are planning to meet with Graduate Students in several schools to introduce PAMHCA and its services.
PAMHCA participated in PCA’s annual conference in October, serving as an exhibitor and offering a Board Member’s session exploring Domestic Violence which was well received.
We offered our book raffle once again and congratulated several happy winners.
The PAMHCA Board also met four times, including at the annual PCA conference in October.
New membership benefit - Members were offered Psychotherapy Networker for the first time.
PAMHCA had a smooth Presidential transition on November 1, 2009 from Mary Ann Baron to Jack Flynn.
PAMHCA prepared for the ACA conference to be held in Pittsburg in 2010 and voted on sharing a table/booth with the Greater Pittsburg Counseling Assoc.
